Campers and Staff Safety

Safety is our utmost priority at Camp Enchanted.

We work very hard to ensure that your Childs week at Camp Enchanted will be fulfilling, action packed and above all safe. As parents we fully understand the concerns and worries you may have around sending your child to a sleep away camp, and that is why we only accept the very highest standard from our staff who are caring for your children.

What precautions do you have in place?

Within Activities

Campers will be split into ability groups on their first morning in their chosen major. Here we will be able to assess what skills each group will be working towards and note down each individual campers goals for the week. Appropriate coaches will be allocated to each group depending on the children’s ability and the coaches qualification level.

Campers will have the chance to learn new skills within their potential.

Around Campus

Afternoon and evening activities will be controlled by the qualified staff leading each session. All risk assessments have been completed and staff members are all aware of the health and safety policies and procedures. Swimming will be supervised by qualified lifeguards and laser tag as well as other activities are all lead by the appropriate staff.

Health and Wellbeing

Fully qualified first aiders will be on site and in the gym at all times. Access to the first aid facilities will be available 24 hours a day and upon camper orientation we will ensure all campers know where this is.

A nurse will also be on site to administer any medications necessary and all medications will need to be turned in upon arrival and they will be kept with our staff.

Parents will be notified if any campers fall ill or sustain any injuries which prevent them from fully enjoying camp.

Staff

Camp Enchanted only employ staff who are experienced, qualified and passionate about what they do.

All staff have been carefully selected and undergone intense training as well as holding enhanced police checks, full references, completed a safeguarding course just to mention a few.

Coaches within the gym will be fully qualified and are trained to notice what your child will be capable of learning, so there will be minimal risk to injuries but maximum fun and learning.

In case of an emergency

Staff undergo thorough training before camp begins and are all aware of the emergency procedure.

On the first day, all campers will have a run through of the emergency procedure.

We have a full emergency procedure in place.

Parents will be notified at the earliest possible time.

Safeguarding

Safeguarding is our absolute number one priority. We take safeguarding extremely seriously and have a number of procedures in place. All staff during their training undergo a safeguarding session as well as holding their enhanced DBS checks. We strive to ensure all campers feel safe and secure from the moment they arrive at camp and our staff are welcoming, relatable and friendly.
